Being a decoy or helper is more than putting a sleeve on and taking a bite! The truly great decoys/helpers can help develop a dog from the puppy stage through to adulthood. Dog owners don’t realise the skill that it takes to read a dog and be able to introduce stress and teach the dog how to win. I’ve been decoying for a long time and the thing that stands out is everyone is in a rush and instead of letting the dog mature and use age suitable training methods they crush the dog and blame the genetics.
