Initial Assessment

I run each new client through an initial assessment so that we can both get a feel for each other and whether we are a good fit. Dog training goes beyond taking anyones money, I want to make sure the client is the right fit for my business! I also want you, the client to have the right relationship with me, because if we don’t, then we’re wasting each others time. If we don’t gel, then no harm, no foul and I can recommend other trainers in the area who can help.

So what goes into an initial assessment, well lets start at the top.

Once I confirm your appointment, I will send you an email with the welcome pack and a screening document for you to fill out. From there I will send you a location and a list of must dos before hand, like when to allow your dog to eat, toilet etc.

Once there we will have a discussion around expectations, we will check your gear and give your dog a once over to make sure they are physically and emotionally ready for the session. Now is the time to tell me, if not before hand, if your dog has been unwell or if there is anything out of the ordinary.

The assessment will last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on a multitude of factors like your dogs age, training goals, weather etc.

At the completion I will have a list of homework for you to complete before our next session!

I will then send you a training plan and access to our online lessons for you to go over in your own time.
